Dragon Nest and a whole bunch of stuff!

Images by naix1337 and Tehaku at devaintart.com

Hello once again gamers. The holidays are drawing near and so are a whole lot of announcements and game releases!

Let me start by saying that Gears of War 3 is having a launch event at Funan; it digital mall. It starts at 8pm on 19th September. But I shall be there on the 18th to queue up already! Because the first 50 get something special and I want to be part of that 50.

Next, here are some pics of another virtual me:

These are screenshots of me playing this new MMO (massive multiplayer online) game called Dragon Nest. Its really quite fun and better than other MMOs because they really help you a lot in directions and quests objectives.

I am a swordmaster; specialized class of warrior and am playing in the server: Greenwood. I am level 17 currently and if you would, you can add me and play in the same server. It has to be same server or else.

Next, I am bombarded with 4 videos that I would really like to watch.

The first is a cool video called Dota 2. DOTA (defence of the ancients) is a modification from a game called: Warcraft 3. People modded the game to play it at a certain style. DOTA became so popular that it is featured in many competitions so it makes it a very competitive game.

Another cool video is street fighter X tekken. Its two remarkable Japanese fighting games combine into one! Sweet!

Now the funny segment.

This is a beta gameplay of Resistance 3. The person playing this spots an unusual glitch and shows it. This Glitch makes him invisible to everyone around him. At the end, you can see he did not die at all and had the most kills. I guess that is why they call it a beta.

The last video is a super funny series called Two Best Friends Play. They play games together and make fun of everything in it. They talk about the realities of the game and make fun of it. It truly is very funny!

Animation DONE!

WooHoo! My animation is finally done. I can RELAX.

I chose scene 3 for my final work.

Scenario 3

However, in this case, the conveyor doesn’t wait for the robot to finish stacking a box before moving the queue – it keeps moving the boxes forward, slowly at first, but getting faster and faster, as if there’s been a malfunction.

Script:

Homer is sick and tired of stacking up boxes everyday so he feels very angry and desperate for change. He feels lazy and has the “I don’t care attitude” but he still has to stack boxes so his work continues.

When he fails to stack boxes properly, he simply does not care and leave it the way it is.

When the conveyer belt moves slowly, he is very impatient and moves a lot. When the box is near, he readies to grab it but the belt speeds up, causing the box to fly in mid air.

He is stunned but gets ready to pick up the next box. The box does the same thing and he is not happy about it.

He is very angry and shouts in anger in the air. He sees the boxes he placed down and feels the boxes are responsible in a way. He builds up his anger and swings hardly at the boxes. The boxes fly off somewhere and he starts to pant after that much anger and hatred for his job.

Reflection:

Discuss the success of your animation.

My animation of the robot arm is showing anger and how the arm portrays it’s anger. It also feels very depressed of doing the exact same thing every time so in the beginning, he feels very depressed and is lying on the floor but he knows he must continue his work so he continues his work.

He has the “I don’t care attitude” and is shown when he never pick up the box that has fallen and drops the boxes instead of putting them on the floor gently.

When he is angry, he shivers in anger and shouts in the air, moving up and down instead of staying in one position all the time.

I think my animation succeeded in bringing out some emotions from the robot arm.

Overall, I am happy for the animation and assignment.

Also discuss how you applied the principles of animation, with examples.

Squash and stretch:

Although the arm does not have any squash and stretch (it’s just a big machine, sitting there lifting boxes), the boxes I believe have mass and weight. When the arm dropped the box, the box fell at an accelerating speed and hit the floor, making a few bounces. The second box also had squash and stretch.

Anticipation:

When the arm looked at the boxes for a while, the anticipation is there to see what the arm will do next. He moves up and down a while and then, finally he swings at the boxes will full force, causing the boxes to fly.

Slow in and out:

When the arm hit the boxes, I added slow-in to see the effect of the boxes flying away at such force. Then I slowed out to resume the animation.

Timing:

I believe timing was used as the timing for specific actions was necessary. When the box fell due to the arm dropping it, the timing for the fall had to be right to make it look realistic. I think almost all other actions also required timing too.

Appeal:

I think it had appeal as some people could tell it is angry by the way it dropped the box half heartedly, shouting in the air and swinging at the boxes.

Arcs:

Although it is an in-animate object, I think it has arcs as it can move in an arc (up and down). The crane as well has arcs because it can rotate vertically.

Rage and Halo (Again and again)

Image from Google.com

Hello once again gamers. Its been a very slow month in gaming . . . again. The holidays are approaching so many ,many games are coming out.

Ive set my sights on Rage, Deus Ex: Human Revolution (maybe), Ninja Gaiden 3 (definitely), Elder Skrolls: Skyrim, Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Assassins creed: Revelations and Starcraft 2: Heart of the swarm. Damn, thats a lot of games (and money).

Ive said Rage first because it is made by one of the game companies that revolutionized first person shooters (other than bungie): Id Software.

Id Software has really made spectacular games like Wolfenstein 3D, the Doom Series and the Quake series. I have played Doom 3 which really scared the hell out of me and Quake 4 which was a bit scary but effects and game play was outstanding. Did you know that Doom 3 took 4 years to create?

Now Rage is another game I am intending to buy from Id. It sort of combines fallout and borderlands to make itself a sellout of both. Fallout and Borderlands both play like an open world game where you do various quest. I have never really played those games and do not know how it feels so now is the time to find out!
